Adidas Philippines launched last week at the Moro Lorenzo Gym of Ateneo De Manila University of the newest basketball shoes to rock the market this 2012. Basketball stars (JC Intal, Ronnie Magsanoc, Ryan Gregorio), celebrities (Andrei Felix), famous DJs (Rico Robles, Nikko Reyes aka DJ Tyler) and members of the press attended the event to see what is the buzz about the newest adiZero Rose 2.5. Aside from that, we also played a friendly basketball match to really test the shoes at competition level.

In terms of the shoes, it weighs even lighter than your average soda at 11 ounces. The adiZero 2.5 is the fourth signature shoe made especially for MVP Derrick Rose. The newest shoe can give any player the next level of speed and support. The adiZero Rose 2.5 is the lightest mid-cut signature basketball shoe Derrick has ever worn. Here are some high-level specs of it as well:

Signature Details - The adizero Rose 2.5 features a top down Google Earth view of Derrick’s Englewood roots embossed into the toe box and upper. The map view is a continuation of the “Cleared for Take-Off” theme of the Rose 2 and represents a view from high above. Signature details include “ROSE” on the tongue and three stripes branding on the back of the shoe to emphasize his speed on the court. The sockliner features an infrared color and Derrick’s signature as a nod to his motivation and inspired play on the court. Derrick’s jersey number “1” is also featured on toe.
Upper - Inspired by the adiZero Crazy Light, it features a premium SPRINTFRAME execution and enlarged SPRINTWEB area to reduce weight, add support and allow maximum motion control. The GEOFIT memory foam collar provides optimum comfort and fit.
Outsole - Uses adiZero Crazy Light outsole traction system and has varied engineered thickness to ensure maximum grip in high wear perimeter zones, and less thickness and weight in low perimeter zones like the midfoot

Aside from the shoes, we were also fortunate to try out the miCoach SPEED_CELL. You might be wondering that you only use miCoach for running but interestingly it is also great for measuring your performance as you play your favorite sport like basketball. The adiZero Rose 2.5 has a special slot to put your miCoach SPEED_CELL, which can turn your shoe into the ultimate digital training tool by letting you track and upload performance data including speed, maximum speed, number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels and time. The on-board memory stores all your measurements during your game or training for up to seven hours and then wirelessly transmits the on pitch performance data to your tablet, PC or MAC. You can also create an avatar and share your stats with friends on Facebook, introducing a fun and competitive edge to training the stats.

Players during the game are really at their all-time high proving the great impact of the shoe to their performance. At the end, Team 3 had their adrenaline rush to the extreme with all the great play, unbeatable defense, anti-gravity shots and shots beyond the rainbow arc. DJ Tyler of Team 3 even had 3 straight 3-points during the finals game. The winning team received a Php 60,000 worth of gift certificates from adidas. See pictures on slide show above.

Adidas also recognized the players with top speed, distance, intensity and sprints which was accurately recorded using the miCoach SPEED_CELL. The winners each receive a medal and gift certificates as well from adidas. There's even 1 player who got all 3 awards during the event with his great performance during the day.

VERDICT: RECOMMENDED! I got the white variant of the shoes and I must say that I really like it. I love the design even the black variant is also great. I also like its mid-cut especially for me who is not that tall. I can also wear it even outside of the hard court and still be stylish with its great design and color combination. In terms of performance, given its "very" light weight one can really feel the difference in terms of speed when using the shoes. I also like the shoes as it is very comfortable and not that heavy or tight. Aside from that, it would really be best to couple it with the miCoach SPEED_CELL to measure your performance improvements. I think its great that adidas innovated to make their basketball shoes home of their SPEED_CELL and not only for running. If you have the money, you can buy both Home and Away look just like D. Rose.

[Feature]: A Vibrant 2012 with Nutrilite's Living in Full Color featuring Enchong Dee

As we welcome 2012 with a big bang and colorful fireworks display, great number of people planned to be healthier this new year. Good news as Amway Philippines has something that will enable to live healthy by adding a splash of color on their diet. Amway is a group that you can trust as they are behind the renowned Nutrilite vitamin, mineral and dietarysupplements and the prestigious Artistry lifestyle brand. As a proof of their commitment in encouraging a healthier 2012 for us, they hosted an event lat Market! Market! Activity Center branded as Living in Full Color.

I personally experienced the festive occasion and it even started as early as the mall opened its doors to its customers. I arrived at around 1PM and the entire activity center of Market! Market! is already full of people excited to visit the booths. I even hard time seeing some fellow bloggers given the number of participants and the queue on the booths was just great. It was also cool that each booth have their own respective color consistent to Nutrilite's ColorUrLife campaign.

I first visited the Red booth and it was a blockbuster hit as well to all the participants. No wonder many people line up on this booth as one can get a free blood pressure reading, cholesterol count, and BMI. After you were able to get the result, there are also certified nutritionist to help out provide suggestions to improve one's health. I am on a not-so-good health status as confirmed by the test result but thankfully the friendly doctors guided me on the corrective actions to take. :)

The other booth offered great activities as well. Those looking for fun trooped over to the Yellow Booth to play WiiFitness Games and the arcade games Punchmaster and Dance Revolution. The PurpleTrim Down Showdown Booth served as the registration hub for the NutriliteWeight Loss Challenge. Participants enjoyed the Green Keepsakes Booth thatoffered free photo printouts the whole day. The White Playhouse functioned asthe stage area where everyone was treated to exciting games and a chance to goout on a special date with celebrity swimmer and new Nutrilite Brand Ambassador. If you think the event is already full with the booths, actually it is just the start. Amway Philippines also hosted a program during the event to make things even colorful. The event started with a dance number and some fun games like twister game, which really challenges the flexibility of the contestants. Those who had just signed up to become Amway’s Independent BusinessOwners (IBO) had the chance to take part in the three-month Nutrilite Double XChallenge, where an iPad 2, an iPod touch and an iPod Nano are all up for grabs. Famous singer Kyla also serenaded the crowd and put an even brighter aura to the audience with her great rendition of popular songs today.

The other highlight of the day was the presentation of Nutrilite’snewest brand ambassador — champion swimmer, Kapamilya Network star andmulti-awarded actor Enchong Dee. I think it is really a good move that Nutrilite chose Enchong to be their ambassador given his healthy figure and his great dedication to sports, on top of his numerous achievement as a celebrity or even as an athlete and student. He truly embodies Nutrilite as a brand. Here's a video of our interview with him back stage:

Fans of Enchong was able to meet him up close as the Green Booth allowed fans of the formerPhilippine National Swim Team athlete to have a free photograph with him througha photobooth. Event participants also had the chance to win a dinner date thesame night with Enchong, but first they had to answer a set of interesting andamusing questions like “If you were a fruit, which fruit would you be and why?” The battle for the date with Enchong is really fun to watch and interestingly 2 bloggers emerged at the finals. At the end, the alluring voice and the unforgettable hug from Alice wowed Enchong and she was able to spend a date with the young and fit Nutrilite's brand ambassador.

Aside from Enchong, one highlight of the event was the launch of the Nutrilite Trim Down Showdown!Weight Loss Challenge. Sign-ups, “before” pictures and weigh-ins were doneat the nearby Purple Booth. Aside from that, the top 10 "soon-to-be-healthy" bloggers (a gentle way of saying unfit) were also recognized but lucky enough to get a free weight loss kit. As you expected, I'm part of the top 10 but still I'm happy as I was given the free kit which is really of good value. I'm really positive that this can help reach my goal to be fit by June. The day closed with a special raffle and confetti blast, but the quest towardsa healthier and more colorful lifestyle has just begun. There has been a change in the route for 16.8K runners. I'm really excited yet worried about the new race course. Hope I can really finish it tomorrow!

Blogapalooza: An epic event for bloggers where everybody is a winner!

Last September 17, you might have noticed that most of your favorite bloggers in the country are either not online or on mobile internet tweeting and updating their status with a lot of items. Don't worry they are not kidnapped by some mafia or anti-blogger organization but they are there to witness a 1st ever event for bloggers and businesses as well known as ... Blogapalooza.

Blogapalooza? Definitely not for Loser
You might be wondering what is Blogapalooza and might notice my badge for quite some time already. It is not similar to the kissing event held every Feb. 14 at Roxas Boulevard. Blogapalooza is a community and a blogger event on crack! It provides a venue for bloggers and businesses to meet together to share to the growing online community something that will interest them and their readers and friends.

From a list of bloggers all over the country that applied, only 150 bloggers or social media influencers were invited to witness this epic event. For sure one of your favorite bloggers was present to share with you the different places, services, products or activities that you can try out.

This event is something new for bloggers as well because normally we only attend seminars, launches and event but not to this extent where we get to spend the entire Saturday afternoon meeting and hearing all the buinesses

Yes, you read it right that there's an ES because over 50 partners, sponsors and presenters who make themselves available for us bloggers. The businesses ranges from a anti-virus, food, spa, gadgets, accessories, clothes, vitamins, fitness services, recreational activities and a whole lot more. The event definitely fit my blog (kahitanoito) as it captures the different readers of my blog as well.

At exactly 1PM, Vince Golangco of WhenInManila.com, the brains behind this event, kick-off the Blogapalooza event.
